This article explains how to share or release single files.
There are two ways to share individual files externally:
Via the file link (quick)
In the Media details area (right sidebar), click the Download button (at the bottom). In the drop-down menu, either select open file link (opens the file in a new tab) or click the adjacent copy icon. The file URL is then copied to the clipboard. Via the share icon, the URL can also be transferred to various messengers. A QR code can also be generated with a single click.
⚠ Note: The file link always serves the original file and cannot be restricted. It only becomes ineffective when the file is deleted.
Via the action bar (more security options)
Check a single file (or several) and, in the action bar (at the bottom), navigate to Share via ⋮ More. In the batch processing panel, select the Create new share tab. The same options are available as when sharing albums, since an album is effectively created containing only the checked file(s).
💡 Tip: To shorten URLs, services such as bit.ly or tinyurl.com can be used.
