This article explains which searches are enabled by evaluating geocoordinates.
With the GPS add-on, existing GPS data in photos can be automatically read out and displayed in the Media Hub. The subsequent creation of geodata is also possible, including via batch processing. All geodata is indexed so that it can be searched and filtered accordingly. A new form of search is therefore possible: the radius search.
When creating geodata manually, you do not need to know any coordinates, but can simply search for the recording location by entering text. The marker can also be dragged and dropped to the desired point on the map.
When the recording location is displayed, not only the coordinates are shown. The tool automatically adds superordinate location information such as city, state and country to the entry.
The previously mentioned radius search, which is started using the filter bar (location), is particularly practical. This filter can be used to display all images taken within a certain radius of a selected location.
Values between 1 and 100 km can be entered, adjustable in kilometre increments.
The prerequisite is, of course, that the images being searched contain corresponding geocoordinates.
