β New features
-
Video Manager for creating clips*
The Video Manager makes it possible to trim and crop videos with just a few clicks. Two crop types are available: in free-form mode the aspect ratio can be set freely, while in social media mode the original aspect ratio or platform-specific optimized sizes can be selected. In both modes the resolution can be retained or reduced. In addition, subtitles can be uploaded and embed codes for videos generated. More info.
-
Expansion of the Tag Manager
New functions for managing a hierarchical tag structure professionalize the maintenance of categories and keywords and speed up tagging: with a well-maintained tree structure, parent and child terms can be added to assets with a single click. In addition to synonyms, the tool also allows all elements of a tree to be translated β for a controlled vocabulary in multiple languages. More info.
-
Version control tool
New versions can be uploaded for existing files. A version history including date and author is created automatically. Older versions can be downloaded, restored, or deleted as needed to free up storage space. More info.
π Improvements
-
Unified processing of metadata
Custom and standardized metadata (Exif, IPTC-IIM, XMP) can now be edited in a single shared dialog β for multiple assets at once as well (bulk processing). An individual action can be selected for each metadata field (including filling in accordance with a metadata template). The dialog window has also been optimized for mobile use.
-
Usability optimization
A progress indicator (loading bar) is now displayed while preparing the download of multiple assets in a ZIP file. In addition, the display of account and profile data in the Media Portal has been aligned with the layout of the Media Hub.
π Bug fixes
- In the mobile version (web app), videos could occasionally not be played in portrait mode (vertical). Fixed.
- Bulk downloads could not be triggered via the mobile web app. Fixed.
- In the metadata input mask, previously stored data was occasionally not displayed. Fixed.

-
Digital consent management*
Obtaining and managing consent forms becomes significantly easier with this feature. Once the necessary legal texts have been created in the backend, the relevant media can be selected via the grid and a request sent to the person depicted (or their legal guardian) with just a few clicks. More info.
-
Support for XMP metadata
XMP is a modern metadata format that has replaced the old IPTC-IIM standard. With this update, XMP is fully supported in the Media Hub: existing XMP data can be imported, edited, and output in multiple languages. More info and in the teamnext blog.
-
Visual Search (AI-based)*
When searching for image motifs, natural language can now be used without the corresponding metadata having to be present. Semantic relationships between depicted objects are automatically recognized after upload and made available for searching. This maximizes the findability of image files and makes manual labeling unnecessary in many cases.
π Improvements
-
Adjustments for digital accessibility (in accordance with WCAG)
Contrast adjustments were made to improve the recognizability of buttons for people with visual impairments. All clickable elements can be operated via keyboard if needed. Usability optimization
Content from metadata fields is now displayed more clearly and in a well-structured manner. In addition, the arrangement of functions for bulk processing has been unified across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
January 2023
β New features
-
Visual comparison of detected image duplicates
An image file identified as a duplicate by content during upload can be visually compared with the existing file; important metadata is also displayed in the process. This makes it possible to decide, click by click, which files to keep, replace, or discard. More info.

In user management, a check is already performed during entry as to whether an email address has a valid form. This minimizes input errors.
-
Display of AI training images in the person record
Directly in the person record, it is possible to see which images the system was trained with. In addition, a link leads to all images detected by the AI.

Sorting option for media shared via share link
Recipients of share links can now sort media by file name or date and thus keep a better overview.
