In this article, you will learn how to change file names.
- Single file – click on the displayed file name in the media details below the preview image > enter the character string* > Enter.

Bulk renaming – Select any number of files > in the action bar under ⋮ More, click Rename > the batch processing panel opens > optionally adjust the sorting > enter the new file name and a separator (default is a hyphen) > finally click Save.
File names are numbered consecutively (based on the selected sorting), e.g. -001 -002 -003, etc.
* Avoid the following characters: ~ " * : < > ? / \ |. Although these are accepted, they are replaced by underscores during export. Background information can be found here.
