In this article, you will learn how to add subtitles to videos (requires the video editing module).
In the media details of a video file (right sidebar), navigate to the Subtitles section and click on Add: A label (e.g. subtitles for the hearing impaired) and a language must now be entered in the dialog and a file selected. You can also specify whether the subtitle track should be set as the default, as several tracks can be stored in any language. Important: The tracks must be saved in WebVTT format. Finally, click on Save.
To activate the subtitles, click on the CC button at the bottom right of the open media player. If several subtitle tracks have been created, these can be selected via the settings icon ⚙️.
