This article explains how to upload files via the upload dialog. This ensures that files go through a review process before being transferred to the system.
After clicking on Upload (folder view top right), the upload dialog screen appears. Files can now be provided via Select file or by drag-and-drop*. If the files are visual media, preview images are generated.
* Drag-and-drop uploading can also be done directly in the folder view.
Mandatory steps (folder, required fields, duplicates)
In the first step, the target folder can be changed or generated new (if required). In any case, the target folder must be confirmed once using the Add to folder button.
In the second step, all required fields must be populated. Note: Individual mandatory fields must currently be activated by teamnext. This will change soon.
If there are duplicates (look out for ⚠ ), you must also decide at this point what to do with them. Details on handling duplicates here.
Optional steps
All further steps are optional and can be completed after the upload if needed. The uploaded files can:
- be assigned to different albums (including new albums)
- be enriched with additional data (tags, licenses, metadata, custom metadata, datasets, location)
- be renamed
It is also possible to select metadata templates and create new tags. The latter is done by entering a tag that does not yet exist and clicking "new" directly next to the tag.
Finalise with Complete upload. Only then the files will be transferred to the Media Hub. If you wish to cancel the upload process, click the close icon (x).
